Starting Monday, April 25, 2016, Kevin Jackson will be the new Interim Administrator for the Motor Vehicle For Hire Authority.  Office hours will be limited during the remainder of April.  Normal office hours will resume on Monday, May 2, 2016.  Please call the office to ensure someone is in the office before you stop by. 

At the Special Meeting held on February 11, 2016, the MVFHA approved the Amended Rules and Regulations which were approved by the Biloxi City Council meeting on February 2, 2016.  This information as well as the new fee structure is available under the "Rules & Regulations" link. 

A special meeting of the Motor Vehicle For-Hire Authority will be held on February 11, 2016 for the purpose of considering and addressing the adoption of the amended Rules and Regulations approved by the Biloxi City Council.  Routine and general business of the Motor Vehicle for Hire Authority will also be on the agenda. 

The meeting will be held in the Terminal Conference Room of the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (3^rd Floor) at 5:30 PM. 

An amendment to Rules and Regulations of the Authority was approved on December 17, 2015, which alters the fee structure and for Company Certificates of Registration and inspection process.

The cost for the Company Certificate of Registration for the first quarter of 2016 will be $50.00; however the Certificates issued will be considered interim and shall be valid from February 1, 2016 to April 30, 2016.  This will allow time for the participating municipalities to conclude the discussion on proposed changes to the Authority.  

The Board approved the new vehicle inspection on December 17, 2015.  Effective immediately, the office will no longer conduct the inspections.  Owners and drivers are now able to have their vehicles inspected by an ASE Certified Technician who possesses minimum certifications in Engine, Brakes, and Steering & Suspension.  Please use the updated form.  

The office has moved to Suite 143 (next to the car rental offices) in the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.

Attached are the proposed regulation changes as well as the proposed vehicle inspection form. Please provide all feedback in the form of an emailed response.  

The MVFHA adopted the attached regulations for Transportation Network Companies at the meeting on July 16, 2015. 

A public hearing will be held on July 9, 2015 at 5:30 PM in the Terminal Conference room of the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.  The hearing is in regard to the draft regulations for Transportation Network Companies.  

Please note the following changes to the Rules and Regulations regarding the Flat Rate Map of the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.  All return trips originating in Gulfport, Biloxi, and D'Iberville that terminate at the airport will be the fare listed on the map.  

Article I - Sec. 15. – Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport Rules & Procedures. 

o   The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (the “Airport”) has the authority to establish rules and procedures as to govern motor vehicles for hire operating at the Airport. These rules and regulations may supersede the minimum specifications of the Authority’s rules and regulations.  Specifically,fares originating or terminating at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport shall not exceed the maximum rate for the locations specified on the Airport Rate Map as established by the Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport Authority (Attachment B).
